Department of Public Health Seeks Members for Mental Health Task Force

San Francisco, CA—The Department of Public Health is looking for individuals who are interested in serving on the new Behavioral Health Innovations (Prop 63) Task Force. Prop 63, also known as the Mental Health Services Act, was passed by voters in November 2004 and has the potential to fundamentally change access to and delivery of mental health services throughout the state. Task Force members will design a three-year plan outlining how Prop 63 funds will be used to achieve the goal of the initiative.

Potential members should possess experience and/or expertise in the field of mental health. Consumers of mental health services and their family members are encouraged to apply. Anyone who would like to be considered for one of 40 membership slots on the Behavioral Health Innovations Task Force should download an application from www.sfdph.org/Prop 63 or contact Carolyn Lieber, 255-3470. Deadline for applications is February 22, 2005.
