WHEREAS, the San Francisco Department of Public Health, Environmental Health Management Section, Local Enforcement Agency, has identified the Mobile Debris Box Disposal Service site in the Bay View Hunters Point area of the City to be in violation of solid waste management laws; and,
WHEREAS, this site has been determined to be a nuisance as defined by the San Francisco Health Code; and,
WHEREAS, this site poses a threat to the public health and safety of the residents of the area, and a hazard to the environment of the adjoining community; and,
WHEREAS, through an accomplished partnership, the California Environmental Protection Agency, Integrated Waste Management Board has joined with the City and County of San Francisco to protect the public health and safety through an agreement to sponsor a $300,000 clean-up operation at the Bay View Hunters Point site; now, therefore, be it
RESOLVED, that the San Francisco Health Commission acknowledges its gratitude to the Integrated Waste Management Board; and, be it
FURTHER RESOLVED, that the San Francisco Health Commission will continue to work with the Integrated Waste Management Board to implement remediation measures using the Board's contractors and to impose future preventative enforcement measures, thus protecting the public health and integrity of all the communities in the City and County of San Francisco.
