WHEREAS, this year the State of California celebrates 130 years of public health activities; and,
WHEREAS, public health services and programs are a high priority for the residents of California and the City and County of San Francisco; and,
WHEREAS, public health programs strive to address the underlying causes of ill health, reduce disease and injury, and promote the health of all people; and,
WHEREAS, the San Francisco Department of Public Health promotes the vision of healthy people in healthy communities; and,
WHEREAS, youth make significant contributions to communities across San Francisco and play a key role in developing a vision of healthy people in healthy communities; now, therefore, be it
RESOLVED, that the Health Commission honors the young people who developed a vision of healthy people in healthy communities and submitted their artwork to the San Francisco Department of Public Health in celebration of Public Health Week, April 3-9, 2000; and,be it
FURTHER RESOLVED that this artwork be displayed citywide to encourage healthy behaviors and activities.
I hereby certify that the foregoing resolution was adopted by the Health Commission at its meeting of Tuesday, April 4, 2000.
