• Pollution Prevention Report and Toolkit for Maritime Industries - In this report and toolkit, the San Francisco Department of Public Health (SFDPH) compiled maritime industry pollution prevention guidance work done by the California Clean Boating Network, the Clean Marinas Program and the SFDPH. The project included hazard assessments of maritime maintenance products, evaluating ingredients of alternative products marketed as “greener”, and working with the industry to develop convenient, “safer” purchasing guides.

• Safer Alternatives to Copper based Antifouling Paints Project Report - The Port of San Diego has been involved in projects to identify viable hull paint options that boaters can select from to replace copper-based hull paints. These efforts are providing valuable information on the status of antifouling technologies and strategies used worldwide, as well as insight into how various non-copper coatings perform in San Diego Bay. This project was funded by the EPA.
