Prenatal Care Services

Our physicians, nurse practitioners, and other support staff provide the following comprehensive prenatal care services for pregnant women:

Check-ups during pregnancy

Postpartum care

Well-baby/child care

Nutrition advice

Home visits from Public Health Nursing

Help in applying for Medi-Cal, WIC, etc.

Mission

To provide excellent, culturally sensitive prenatal care for women in Bayview Hunter’s Point (BVHP) by:

Providing comprehensive prenatal care for women with low-risk pregnancies

Identifying high-risk pregnancies and expediting referrals to obstetricians or perinatologists as appropriate

Providing outreach services to women through appointment assistance, referrals, home visits, etc.

Educating families about contraception and referring them to prenatal classes

Helping clients who are uninsured get insurance

Vision

To continue providing excellent, culturally sensitive prenatal care for women in BVHP by: 

Recruiting women not currently receiving prenatal care and encouraging them to remain in care whether at SEHC or another clinic

Providing more outreach in the community and increasing the community’s awareness of SEHC’s prenatal care services

Improving education and information for patients

Continuing to help clients gain access to prenatal care services such as providers, social workers, and nutritionists
